The Warm Embrace
I believe in camp fires.
I believe in the iridescent glow fuming from the orange flame that brings warmth and compassion to people’s hearts. I believe in the single swift flip of a switch lighting everyone’s faces as well as their world. And I believe that logs keep people’s own burning fire in tact.
When the first log settles down on the freshly groomed ground we experience excitement as plans have only started. When the second log is situated everyone begins to gather; knowing not one but two logs will burn an even brighter flame. And when the match is brought out they know they have accomplished a victory as the fire will finally elluminate its everlasting warmth. For a while we are left in an embrace. Everyone can look to their left and their right to notice the different logs that have been placed in our own backyards. Or even the certain logs that we hand pick to add to our collection. They provide a phosphorescent light, that not only help patch the burnt holes placed in our hearts, but they keep us from blowing out our own flame. But when the rain begins to come, and the sorrowful clouds beam over our heads, we know one more log can do the trick. It will keep the fire burning even when people’s outsides only notice the dark and gloomy weather. No matter what ashes may cover our walk way we know we can always count on the fire from not one, but many burning embers found deep in our loved ones hearts.
As the ticking time clock continues to pass, and the day is coming to an end your fire will begin to die down. Whether it be small logs or large logs-acquaintances or emotionally stable friends-you will always have plenty leftover to fill the void between the burnt debris. These logs have an everlasting supply that continually warm every bone created in your body.
