Summary

Our aging IT infrastructure is in need of a new system platform to replace end of life hardware. When the current system hardware was acquired our business model was in its infancy. The average end user fielded and placed phone calls for the bulk majority of their business day. Now, as we have evolved as a company, replacing our aging desktops with laptops should be considered for mobility purposes.

System Comparison

The first system that is up for consideration is the Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series. This option gives our end users the ability to use the laptop in the office and then take it with them into the field. When giving customers presentations our users can alter the laptop to a tablet style and engage the customers directly with interactive documents for order taking. The specs for the for this workstation are as follows:

The second system that is up for consideration is the HP Spectre x360. This option has a very similar configuration to the previously mentioned Dell model with a couple of distinct differences. The differences being the size of the hard drive on this unit, and this laptop has a larger available screen resolution at 2560x1440.
