This report is about Mergers and Acquisition where our bidder company is Marks and Spencer and our target company is Debenhams. Both companies belong to the retailing industry and are listed on the London Stock of Exchange. In this report we would begin with the introduction of both companies including details about their history, recent trends, past takeovers as well as the industry trends.
The report also shows the SWOT analysis inclusive of the Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats of both companies gathered from various sources. This section of the report would also include the stock market performance of Marks and Spencer (acquirer) as well as Debenhams (target). It gives brief information on the Price/Earnings ratio and Earnings per share over the past few years.The next section of the report consists of the valuation. It is an essential part of the report as it will show information on the acquisition. It contains figures from various sources such as the financial statement, balance sheet, annual statement and the income statement.
