Political Spectrum

Politics is a set of different views and roles of the government. Americans have essentially no interest in political ideologies either on the extreme left, which is communism, or the extreme right, which is fascism. American politics function largely in the middle of the political spectrum as a contest between liberals and conservations. There are volumes of websites that are trying to mold public opinions and political views. On two websites that I have been dissecting, both portray that Americans are not completely left or right when it comes to choosing a place on the spectrum.
“They both favor government control they just want that control in different areas,” talking about Liberals and Conservatives, in general. The two parties are opposites on the social and economic part of the political spectrum. On the website, www.slayerment.com/liberal-vs-conservative-vs-libertarian-vs-authoritarian, I personally like the fact that the author uses very extensive charts and breaks down some political topics, by using green checkmarks and red x’s with what each political party favors and un-favors.
Political cartoons stay on the pulse of current affairs and in doing so tries to draw the attention of their audience to the topic and nudges them to take some kind of action. So if you want to know about how a segment of America feels, turn to their editorials and read the political cartoon. On cartoonmovement.com/cartoon/6568 the author is trying to raise a strong sense of values and morals in the person that reads them. Whether a person agrees or disagrees with the way a certain topic is portrayed in the cartoon it accomplishes the artists goal of making their reader stop and ponder for a moment about the topic being covered and how it relates to them. The cartoonists use a medium that was once reserved for innocent humor and changes it so that it draws the reader’s attention (since it is a cartoon and people seem to enjoy reading the funnies), and
