The methods
To solve our problems and analyze our research in a rational way, we collect both primary and secondary data and information.
We decided to use quantitative data. During our research we obtained different data from the survey which was conducted on October and November 2015. We found it very helpful for our research to see how people are reacting for the criticism and what do they think about UNICEF agency and related reputation. The possibility of transforming this data for usable statistics was important for our further research. The survey which was conducted helped us to quantify attitudes and opinions people all over the world, about these particular fields. Thanks to that it was possible to generalize results from a larger sample population.
Besides,we also have an interview with cooperate manager in UNICEF,we put up with several questions much more representative and inside that it is not easy to get from the public website and universal platform, which we could find more worthy inside information from the manage and secretary,we choose the interview questions related to the scandals about our research question and reputation changes recent year and how they manage to enhance their reputation.
We have obtained secondary data from various sources, as following:
- Textbook and articles. To collect basic information about the reputation and recent Unicef information many articles was analyzed. Researched period was from beginning of 2014 to most recent articles from September 2015. Obtained knowledge helped us to compare different points of view.
- Companies’ report. The reports from different date were used to compare significant figures. Company- specific information was obtained to observe how company is dealing with several criticism.
- Companies’ website. To obtain specific information about products, services and strategy, the website of Unicef was used and found.
We conduct a survey by delivering questionnaires on the Facebook to collect primary data, which enables us to acquire some basic knowledge concerning the topic from the public. Nevertheless, we have the problem of getting a relatively small amount of samples, which has a negative impact on the universality and effectiveness of our findings and conclusion. In addition, we collect secondary data by consulting articles and documentations. The secondary data we get helps us better understand the reputation and crisis communication. We develop our project with the combination of these two measures.
The analysis (the findings and theory)
The survey analysis
Most of the respondents who mainly for female group have more patience and good known about the charity agency like the UNICEF which focus on helping the child and female gender in need and danger,so the results could be much more objective and persuasive .
We also realized the scandals we mentioned in the survey few people have heard about that the participants consider the UNICEF has a good reputation and few of them have heard of the criticism events although with bad influence, which shows us the UNICEF has a good crisis communication coping with the negative criticism even scandals hopefully.
