My Road to College

My road to college has seemed to be a very long and winding process. I went from being a straight A student in elementary school, to being pregnant at a very young age of thirteen and a high school dropout, to being a straight A college student.

In my early school years starting in kindergarten, I loved school, I loved learning. I was very smart and I knew this, when I was in first grade I wanted to be a lawyer and I was making plans on how to do this. I made honor roll in first grade and stayed on through fourth. When I was in third grade, my school wanted to skip me ahead two grades and place me in a magnet program; at the time my mom did not think it would be a good idea, so I did not skip grades or go to the magnet school. It was in fifth grade that I started acting out and letting my grades slip.

It was when I started middle school that I started hanging out with the wrong crowd, and it was at that time that I started to feel like school was not one of my top priorities and wasn't very important to me at all. Instead I was ditching school to hang out with what I thought at the time were my friends and putting my time into making a lot of negative decisions for me. At that point my mother decided that moving away from the area and all the influences that surrounded it. So we did; we moved clear across town. After we moved I was very angry about it, of course I did not want to move away from my friends even if they were no good for me. So I started rebelling against her authority and everyone else's more than ever. It wasn't long after that I found myself pregnant at the very young mere age of thirteen; after this I started thinking right again and got back into school and was doing a lot better in school and
