- What does it mean to be a leader?
A leader is the person who leads and inspires a group, organization, or country.
- Personal definition for leadership.
In my opinion leadership is the capacity that someone has to motivate a group of people in order to accomplish something.
- Personal definition for management.
Management is the process of dealing with or controlling things or people.
- Differences between leaders and authority figure.
The authority figure’s job is to plan, organize and coordinate. The leader’s job is to inspire and motivate.
Leaders in organizations and elsewhere may have formal authorities but they mostly rely on the informal authority that they exercise on people to influence them.
Individuals, who do not rely on authority but lead people, are the ones who enjoy the privilege of their ideologies and thoughts practiced by later generations long after they are gone.
- Why do people follow leaders?
They have a mind of their own and always maintain a high degree of integrity. They truly care about their employees personally and most importantly they are committed to developing and making every team member better.

Usually, people make decisions and choices based on securing themselves the most beneficial outcome. So, when it comes to choosing to follow a leader, people do so either because there is some reward for doing so even if the reward is not desirable but offers a better outcome than any alternative options or because the leader's values, opinions and beliefs echo their own.
