CSR
Long term solution or quick money making fix? CSR is one of the biggest commitments a company have to take. Including economic and social responsibilities for their workers. Even bringing down their Co2 use. So is this really just a was of money, or is it just the short ignorant short term thoughts? Well changing their whole business plan is a challenge without loosing money at first.
So why is it that CSR is so hard to implement? Well American is in love with the short term solution is, and that is how they are. How there are raised and what they learned. So basically the only thing that you can do is push it on to change, what they think about is. Implement it in their culture.
Michael E. Porter aspired on the show Ted-Talk, addressing the topic CSR. Explaining, what controversies there are about it. And so on with how a solution is made. How improvement, will do better in the future. How it would help raise the quality, lessen the sick days, better branding. Without compromising the profit, on a long term plan. And how keep choosing the the short term plan, will keep us in the same pattern.
Porter also says that the solution is within the companies. The employers have the power and the resources to make at difference. But the right measures aren’t taken. That eh progress they claim to do, and the effort they show. That’s never going to get us anywhere. Is a small solution here and there, but when you look at it doesn’t change the numbers. So the once that have to take action is the companies.
But of course Porters states that it is not only their fault, but as a consumer we have a responsibility as well. Because who is the most important person for them to make their money? That is you as the consumer, if you don’t buy. They wont make any money. This is where the consumers responsibly lays. Because when they cant the only thing they care about, they will need to make changes. Here is your power, and only you can use it.
So we can say that this problem is not single put on one side, but both, for else changes wont happen. CSR is a shared solution, and I the end It benefits both parts. Joined solution, joined work effort.
