Dear Honor,

My name is xxx. I just received Verlyn D. Rechards Scholarship. I appreciate for receiving this scholarship. This scholarship means a lot to me because it gives me a full affirmation on my academic and also supports me in financial term.

I am an international student come from Japan. When I decided to study abroad, I did a lot of researches about the universities. Finally I chose to go to Kansas University because I was attracted by the beautiful environment of the school. And it was a bright decision and I never regretted going here. The people here are very warm heart.

My GPA is 3.89 and my major is finance. I am very interested in the security analysis. I almost finished all my basic required classes in business area. I will graduate in May in 2012. When I graduate, I want to pass the chartered financial analyst test and to become a CFA. After that I will start my career in one financial company. I have enough confidence for my career in the future because I learn a lot of professional knowledge in KU.

My hometown is a small city which located in the northeast of Japan. It is beautiful and I spent a happy life there with my family. I am very proud of my family members. They are kind and friendly. They always love and support me with no conditions. I finished my high school in Shanghai because my mother wanted me to get the best education and it is also one reason that I decided to study abroad.

In my free time, I would like to hang out with my friends, chat with my mother online, and doing some exercises. I like skiing and skating. I try to help people as much as I can do. Last summer, I volunteered in South Africa to protect wild animal and help school reconstruct with my team. I learned a lot from this activity such as team spirit and
