The Ad that I have chosen is an ad for Sony headphones. The ad is a picture of the Mount Rushmore monument in South Dakota. In the picture, it is sunny, there are blue skies with some clouds forming an “m” like pattern, with trees covering up almost half of the ad at the bottom of the page. All of the monuments are wearing various different types of Sony headphones. Abraham Lincoln is wearing more bigger and thicker headphones than Theodore Roosevelt and the rest of the gang. The trees make a path towards the monuments, and the chords from the headphones looks as if they are going down that path. Without Sony even mentioning it, they tell you through this ad that they offer different color headphones and types of headphones, because of the yellow headphones George Washington has compared to the grey headphones Theodore has, and the black headphones that George and Abraham both have. In bottom of the ad is a SONY slogan, “Sony headphones… They make rock come alive.”. At the bottom right of the ad there is a large paragraph too small for the eye to see. Below the small sized paragraph, there is also another one small line with a font that is even smaller than the paragraph above it. In the very top right corner, there is the Sony symbol. The symbol is white with the blue sky in the background. The picture is centered like you are looking up at the monuments, almost acting like you are there with the monuments. Compared to the actual Mount Rushmore, all of the presidents have straight faces, looking out into the distance. George Washington in this ad compared to the actual Mount Rushmore, has his eyes closed his lips are slightly closed. In the real Mount Rushmore, George Washington has his eyes open and his lips look tight to his mouth. Thomas Jefferson in the ad is smiling, his mouth is open, showing his teeth. His eyes are not as tense, and in the ad he also shows dimples on his cheeks. In the real Mount Rushmore, his mouth is closed, he is showing no emotion, his eyes are looking straight ahead with no emotion. Theodore Roosevelt in the ad has his mouth open in a circle like formation, his eyebrows are slightly raised, his eyes are looking down at the ground. In the real Mount Rushmore, his mouth is completely closed, his eyebrows are not raised and are completely straight, his facial expression is straight, and his eyes are looking out into the distance like the other presidents. Abraham Lincoln in the ad has very wide eyes, he shows dimples in his cheeks, his lips are moving upright at both the left of his mouth and the right of his mouth. In the real Mount Rushmore, Abraham Lincoln has a very straight face, his mouth is very straight compared to the curve mouth in the ad, his eyes are not wide like the ones in the ad, and he also shows no dimples in the real life Mount Rushmore.
