The Big Store
Today, more people prefer shopping at big stores since big stores offer economical products to customers since they only have limited money. Meanwhile big stores provide more comprehensive products for customers to choose. Dollar General is a small store that cannot offer big products such as TVs and computers. When customers want to purchase these big products, they have to go to bigger store. Additionally, big stores offer prefect service system to customers. Dollar General only has 3 employees that cannot service all the customers while Meijer is a big store that has more than 50 employees everyday to help customers and provides test service for customers.
Big stores provide cheaper products than small stores. One of main reasons is a big store having lower costs than small store. Big stores have more complete supply chain system that promises the shortest and cost-effective shipping way to delivery the products. Since big stores use cost leadership to attract more customers, big stores still make large profits because of large sale volume. Since big stores have large sale volume, big stores have more power to negotiate with manufactures to get cheaper price. However, small stores don’t have such power to attempt low price. Moreover, some big stores also produce their own brand products that big stores have their own manufactures. These big stores’ own brand products have the same quality as other products from famous brands. However, since big stores’ own brand products have lower costs such as promotion cost and shipping cost, these products are cheaper than others. To sum up, small stores don’t have such power to decrease cost while big stores enable to provide more economical products.
Furthermore, the large store has more employees who can help us find whatever we want. If we have questions, we can also ask them for help immediately. Customers will prefer small stores when they want to purchase something quickly. Consequently, small stores don’t need to provide many employees to help customers. However, big stores have more comprehensive products to consumers. Sometimes, consumers are confused to find some products in big stores. Under this situation, employees are necessary to help customers to get products. When big stores offer more employees to help customers, customers will feel satisfied since customers will fell big stores pay attention to them and take care of them. Because of this happy shopping experience, these customers will become loyalty customers of big stores. Therefore, big stores are necessary to hire more employees to help customers.
