The Money

Comprehension

Diaz explains to us readers that he grew up poor that he stated in his first paragraph and how his father would always lose his forklift job. Diaz mother would be saving money for there grandparents. How big of a family they are yet how little they own.

The money in his mother's “forbidden stash” is what is being saved up to be sent back to Santo Domingo to the grandparents. The purse money is for them and their errands that can be afforded. In the book, you can definitely tell why the distinction makes sense as you can see it also explains if they touch it what would happen.

Diaz solved the case of the stupid morons by asking his so-called friend to use the bathroom but instead of using the restroom he unlocked the window. Later they all left to the park where he later said he left something home. Daiz then went back to the main dopes apartment and entered through the window. Going through the apartment and found the stash under the dopes bed.

What Diaz meant in the last paragraph in the last sentence was that even though he went through so much just to get the money there was no emotion no questions asked about how he had the money.

Purpose and Audience

What Diaz expressions in the story it tells me he is outgoing in a way smart to use big words to show and explain what is going on give us somewhat of a visual with the send words.

Diaz main idea is how he staying that his family is financially bad and how poor they are coming from the republic Dominic. “If we would have known what we were really facing I would have chosen to stay with my grandparents”. I would add that or even this one “living in America is twice as hard to live especially if you are an immigrant”.
