To kill or not to kill. That is the real question.
Statistical proof shows that, “there are about 1.21 million abortions out of 4.31 million people in America each year.” Can you imagine how it would it be like if you were one of these babies? Of course not! You wouldn’t have been born. Your life would have been taken away before you could even smell nature or get to say your first word. While some people are prochoice,
others are pro-life. Everyone was raised a different way and because of that, many of us distinguish our views on it. Some may see this in a political perspective, while others may see this topic as a religious perspective. On the other hand, some may go to the extremes and talk about rape and what rights does the woman have in a situation like this. It is certain as to believe, that no matter what the situation is, no one should be able to perform abortions.
Being raised in a religious, hispanic family and being born a daughter of a very young single mother may have made me view this topic on this perspective. She showed me that no matter what situation you are in, nothing is impossible. Many of those who agree that abortion should be performed argue that not everyone is ready to be a parent. If you were not ready to be a parent, then there were a lot of precautions you could have done, before you got yourself into
this sticky situation. You could have used a condom. If he does not want to use it, she could buy one for herself. There are “diaphragm, birth control pills, birth control patches, and many more.” There is so much technology in this generation and ways to stop you from getting pregnant. Pregnancy could be prevented in various ways. Those who end up pregnant and do not wish to be pregnant act irresponsible (unless they got raped). Condoms are given free in clinics. It is
even required for students to take a Health Class before they graduate high school, so even for those young females who have sex at a young age have no excuse to say, “I am too young to have a child,” when in the clinic free condoms and birth pills are givens away.
Abortion would never be a decision you have to make if you were responsible enough before you decided to have “fun”. There are implants that can be done that lasts for three years to prevent you from getting pregnant. These implants can be removed even before the span of three years. These implants are called, “The birth control implant. A small rod is inserted in the arm, and it releases hormones to prevent pregnancy for up to three years. It must be inserted and removed by a health care provider.”1 You as a female can sterilization get your tubes tied and cut, banded, or cauterized, but if you do not want to do that, your partner can help out in other ways besides using a condom. They can get a Vasectomy. “ Men may choose to undergo a process that blocks their vas deferentia, through which sperm flow, preventing them from mixing with semen. When the man ejaculates, his semen does not contain sperm, making it impossible for him to get a woman pregnant.”1 This can be done to those who do not want to have any protection, yet they are acting responsibly for doing this.
