True Love Can Cross All Boundaries
In life, love can be a positive force that joins people together. For instance, the love between lovers, parents and children, as well as the love between friends. However, we often encounter some problems which would destroy our love with others. These difficulties usually are the gap between ideas, family, social status, lifestyle, economic conditions, species, dead, and fare. There is no doubt that this is a great challenge of love, because these difficulties are easy to affect the relationship between people and produce a border of love. Nevertheless, true love can cross all the boundaries, because it is patient, sacrificial, understanding, and supportive. These power of love is far greater than the boundaries and the straitened circumstances they face.
Love crosses all boundaries because it is patient. People would ignore something they originally think much of it when that would hurt someone who they really care about, because there is the love in their heart. In the play, A Midsummer Night Dream, Hermia’s father, Egeus, was trying to prevent Hermia marrying Lysander, because he think there is a big boundary of social status between his daughter and Lysander. Egeus has a very traditional perception that he thought the love and marriage should be based on parents’ ideas but not just follow two lovers’ heart. However, finally he still admitted Lysander, because he knew, if he insisted on his own idea, Hermia may have to marry with Demetrius because of the law and the Theseus’s decision, which would hurt Hermia’s heart. As a father, he must want his daughter’s future happiness, but not just be entangled with the difference of social status. So he can be patient to accept Lysander gradually. That is the love from a father. The power of it is far more than the boundary of the social status. In the book, Life of Pi, when they float on the sea, Pi and Richard Park always keep their eyes on each other. Richard Parker could kill and eat Pi at a moment, Pi also had the ability to survive alone, but they decided to against their fate together. As we know, Richard Parker is a tiger, and Pi is a man. Even though they do not have any common language, they also built up a mental connection gradually. If they lost each other, both of them cannot survive. Their relationship has reached a higher altitude. They can totally be patient to each other and even became friends. The love between them has crossed the boundary of species and lifestyle.
Love can go through all borders because it is sacrificed. It just likes the magic, which can give us power to against any difficulties, bring us courage to do something that we are afraid in the before, send us hope to expect the future happiness. For example, there is a love called family love such as Pi and his family. When Pi went out to the deck, he found that it is raining very heavy. The tide made the hull shake violently. People were preparing to escape by using the small boat. At these time, Pi did not go alone, but went back to the cabin to rescue his parents and brother who were still sleeping, even though he also stood at the boundary of life and dead. The ship was sinking and the rain still struck the hull heavily. People on the ship were into big trouble. However, the love of family had covered the fear of dead. Pi could even sacrificed himself to exchange his families’ life. That is the contribution of love, which can cross the boundary of lifestyle, dead, and fear. In A Midsummer Night Dream, the example of Oberon and Titania gives us a result that there is no sacrifice in love. Oberon is a person who is selfish. He did not think about other people but just cared about himself. So from the beginning to the end, he can not get the true love of Titania. So he had to use some extreme method that dropped the flower juice on Titania’s eyes. However, it is not exist in our life. Therefore, it is difficult to get the true love if the person is not sacrificial.
