Culture is a specific fundamental set of behavior and practices, serves the purpose of establishing rules and principles in our societies. When people adapting different culture, it becomes easy that the principles are shape people’s daily behavior and moral code. However, each culture has particularly indicate the issue of violence. Individuals following a particular culture are expected to follow the rules and principles to established a world that is without violence. On the contrary, same culture behaviors are deemed to violences action from people that has different background. In the following essay, I will illustrate how these violences created by culture. Otherwise, the following essay will discuss the original intention that people proffering violence. One aspect states that certain individuals feel that violence that they created is relatively harmless, and therefore people feels no feeling and regret in performing violent acts. On the other hand, certain individuals feel that violent acts are justified as a means of spreading their faith. This points out that survival and expansion of culture through violent acts is acceptable and necessary. At last, we will discuss the violence that created by the technology expansion, which raise a kind of new culture and has huge influence to human’s daily life and behavior.
Cultural and social norms are rules or expectations of behavior within a specific cultural or social group. They are obvious to everyone from same background and familiar with it. Those norms provide social standards of all appropriate and inappropriate behaviors, and decide whether the actions is acceptable or not. Cultural and social norms exist in our society because of individuals are prefer to follow, and hope that other people will also follow as the
same direction. A divers of external and internal impacts are force people to maintain their cultural and social norms. Therefore, individuals are very difficult to change the social behaviors. In addition, the all surroundings are discouraged people to violating social norms. Proffering difference may cause some individuals feels guilty or shamed and be considered a heterogeneous in that society. Cultural and social norms can not fit with any individual’s opinion or belief. However, cultural could influence people’s attitude and belief when it already deeply be a part of that society. Cultural and social norms are vary widely. Therefore, behavior acceptable to one social group, or culture may not be acceptable in another. Different cultural and social norms support different types of violence, such as beat children, women to be restricted or sexual harassment. Equally, cultural acceptance of violence, and thinking that action is a part of their social norms. Parts of social norms are evolve from people’s living habit. Specific individual’s experience have be verified valuable. Whereafter, that particular performance or experience has been conveyed to wider and wider areas and its essence has been acknowledged by more and more people in the that area. Therefore, that behavior become to the social standard and to be exist permanent in their culture. For instance, the Three Character Scripture indicate that: A child’s father fill full responsibility if his children are less educated, and should be strict. Initially, this quote states that fathers should be have obligation to teach their children how to be an honorable men. However, it was be misinterpreted parent children must be strict with their children. No matter what they do is not acceptable, their children should be punished. A variety of punishments are seems out of the boundary, and becomes to domestic violence. Nevertheless, most of the parent are no consider their performance are violence and never regret what they have done. They think that’s what they should do as a qualified parent. Moreover, those parent actual thought their action is helping their children to be a great people, and children will be appreciative when they growing up. Parents never consider what their violence performance will cause. Majority children might be follow their parent’s instruction no matter whether they are willing. On the contrary, part of children might produce negative mentality and against their parent. That will forcing their parents more strict discipline, and goes in an endless loop. It is strange that a majority of people who have this experience will done the same action to their children as if they already forget what they have been through in that age. This particular violence become a social norm and pass one generation to another one.
