Was the 1920s a time of decline for the American Dream, or was it a time for the dream to be transformed?

The American Dream was about having a high status in the society and be known for your abilities.

The American dream became more materialistic, therefore some people would say that it was a decline. There was a huge difference between the rich and poor people. The civilisation spread a lot, the economy was banging, people got more rich, and there was a lot of parties.

Prohibition on alcohol. It was banned in the 1920s.

Prohibition was a big part of it. It was very important, even though it wasn’t allowed back then. It was a fiasco, because the lifestyle was too wild. There was a lot of illegal sale of liquor.

In the 1920’s there was a lot of illegal sale of liquor, there were also a lot of criminality and it was at that time the mafia (italian) was created.
