You look good the way you are
”You don’t have to change yourself for anyone or anything. You look good the way you are.” That sounds like a platitude, a phrase that has been used way too much that it has lost its true meaning. Even though if it is a cliché, it is consistent with today’s society. Men, women and even children have pressure to look good, to look their best, to look ”perfect” and this kind of approach comes mostly from social media and TV. You can get a lot of tips and tricks, ideas on how to look perfect. From food products all the way to make-up or hair products. But why? one might think. Isn’t there other ways, more important ways to make yourself happy. To really appreciate what you have and look however you want to look like. To be one of your kind. To be unique and not look like everyone else. What is the point of that? Having the shiniest hair or the best long-lasting lipstick on the market or if your wardrobe consists of clothes from the latest fashion does not matter at all. Not at least if you want to be happy, feel secure and be confident in your own skin, with who you are. If you are not all that, then why spend all that money on products that make you look ”perfect”? You will still have to deal with your feelings, which are very hard to get rid of, let alone fix it. This obsession with perfect skinny bodies, having the perfect boobs or butt, having designer clothes, bags, shoes, will make people do anything just to get it. Starving themselves or burying themselves in debts in order to look like everyone else, which has become a problem today. In some way, this is peer pressure. Why do some people have anorexia? It is because of peer pressure. The feel the pressure to look like models or Hollywood stars.
