“Are you sure that they are all lying?” one of the little children asked.
Frederick nodded at them.
“Do you honestly think this ‘God’ is true?”
This man, Frederick, was a tall young man around twenty-eight years of age. He had raven-black hair and bright green eyes.
“And if God really is true, he’s pretty horrible for making all these terrible things happen to us!” he told to the children.
Most of them nodded looking serious; taking every single word out of his mouth as the truth, except for a few. This one boy in the very back with bleach-blond hair and icy blue eyes, especially. This little boy frowned angrily at Frederick.
“How dare this idiot man speak badly of our savior! He will meet death and plead for mercy from God himself! Then we’ll see who’s real or not!”
The next day, there was knock on the door of the house of Frederick. When he opened the door there were two knights standing there. One of them tall as Frederick, and the other knight was taller than either one of them.
“Yes, Sirs? I was just about to go to my shop if you need any new weapons.” Frederick tried to answer politely.
“Are you Frederick Smith, sir?” the taller one asked with a deep voice.
“Yes, I am. May I help you?” Smith raised an eyebrow.
Without saying anything, the two men grabbed Smith’s arms and forcefully dragged him up to the road.
“Wh- What are you doing! Let go of me!” Frederick struggled to get out of the men’s grasp but their grip was much too strong.
“We’re taking you to the castle, Smith. Looks like you’re in big trouble with the King and Priest!” the shorter man said, grinning.
“The Priest! Did one of those kids rat me out! There were a few kids who glared at me while I spoke.” Frederick thought, “That means I might- no… Not might. I will be burned to death! How horrible!”
He struggled even more trying frantically to get out of the men’s grasp. But the knights held their grasp of him very firmly all the way to the castle. When they finally got at the throne room, Frederick was pushed down onto the floor. In front of him was no other than King Josef and Father Benedict. In the very back was Queen Godiva and her son Prince Gavin.
“Frederick Smith!” bellowed King Josef.
