Today, my presentation is about Google’s acquisitions. Google’s established in 1998, at the past 14-years of company, Google spend $22 billion to acquisition over 130 companies. Only at this year, Google already merged 6 companies. Google’s not a company afraid to reach into its pockets.
Also has a history of bringing small businesses and start-ups into the fold, many of which have gone on to help build some of its most notable features.
Here's a look at some of its more remarkable purchases.
Firs acquisition is about YouTube. In October 2006, Google merged youtube. It cost Google $1.65 billion. Before Google merged youtube last Friday, Wall street journal reported Google want to takeover youtube. For this reason, the company’s shares increase 2%. When Google declared acquisition youtube at $1.65 billion, Google’s stock arise 2.02%. one week ago, the share price increase 0.63% at $431.70. This price is date from April in this year. Because of this acquisition, Google increase in market value of nearly $40 billion, more than twice the price than the company's acquisition of YouTube. Analysts said that, through the acquisition of YouTube, Google can quickly enter the high-speed growth of video advertising market, and establish their leading-edge.
Second acquisition is about android. It must be splendid acquisition case in Google. Before Google merged Android, there not too many people know this company which establish 22 month. Google spend $50 million to takeover Android. It must be a wise decision. Because over 59% cell phone runs on android system in the world. Also, it's the core of Google's mobile operating system, powering over 300 million smart phones and tablets.
