Interactive ways in transmitting knowledge and information
As the third central issue have been discussed about the lack of interactive ways in transmitting knowledge and information, definitely technology advancement must play a major in solving this issue. A study done by Monmouth University on Grammy Museum discovered that the museums have provided various kinds of dynamic, interesting and useful information about the history of Grammy Award. Malaysian Museums should have more interactive public kiosk system. This will allow the users to explore and find more information like history of the museums and pictures of the collections in the museums. Users will have more fun and excitement with the graphics display, integrated touch screens and speakers. Eventually, this can increase the interest level of people to visit museums and also number of visitors.
Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, Australia is having 3D gesture interface system which developed by Gesture Tek. Similarly Malaysian museums also can have a 3D gesture interface system game where the historical persons will be playing a role as a character in the game. Eventually the person who plays the game will get to know the historical person easily. Thus, people may be more interested and motivated to visit to the museums for learning some historical information rather than stay at home and get the information through online.
To conclude, technology advancement has really given the opportunity for the visitors to explore more information since technology gadgets can easily transmit knowledge and information. Therefore, museums in Malaysia should keep updating their museums to the latest high tech that advance day by day.
