Collaboration as a Team
Collaboration means to work together as a team in order to achieve success. Team members work in a joint intellectual effort when it comes to working in groups. Group work is a joint effort in spite of any previous relationships. In this group assignment, individuals will be collaborating in order to accomplish a specific task.
There are lots are advantages of having diversity in a collaborative learning environment. Society is so diverse now and we rub shoulders with so many different people. Learning about diversity in a class setting will help us become well rounded in society. It gives us the opportunity to share our beliefs and views to maybe open our fellow students mind to other things or someone may open our mind to a different way of thinking. Because we all are in a learning environment it forces individuals to work together for the same goal in mind. Having diversity can raise the awareness of different issues going on in society and help us as individuals not to be bias to others.
Moving forward, factors such as diversity, attitude, learning, and work styles may significantly affect collaboration. When thinking of collaboration, the key to it is communication for everyone that is participating. Of course you are going to have many different personalities involved because everybody does not think the same. When collaborating, it is good to ask questions about other group individuals in order for everything to go as planned. Some individuals are critical thinkers, some may be better readers, and some may be good writers or organizers, however, it all comes together. People also learn different as well. One individual may be a visual learner while others maybe hands on. Thus, the attitude of an individual can be based on how determined that person is and somebody else maybe more relaxed about their work.
