Leaf Holdings, Inc. a commerce tech company established and operates the world’s first tablet specifically designed for commerce and complete business management using the Leaf Platform. The Leaf platform consists of a first and second generation Leaf Presenter: an Android-based tablet which can accept credit card payments and log other forms of payment, such as cash and gift cards, the Leaf Business: an online business management and analytics tool, and the Leaf-Appstore: an application programming interface developed by third party developers thru which the company sells tech components to merchants. These three facets coupled together enable Leaf to operate a Commerce Platform for Small Business. Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Leaf operates out of a 15,000 square foot office in the technology hotbed of Kendall Square and supports its ever growing team of software engineers, project managers etc and aid in the development and sales of is platform.
The company was founded in 2011 by Sebastian Castro Galnares and Aron Schwarzkopf while they were attending Babson Business College. Leaf empowers local merchants to operate and growth their businesses by providing a mobile payment platform built for local commerce. The company Leaf’s Business Plan is beneficial to both the customer and the merchant. From a merchants perspective leaf’s products is able to connect every part of your business to keep you informed and allows you to stay in control from anywhere in the world. This works by using the Leaf tablet, your desk top or your mobile phone, which enables you to connect and stay in touch with every aspects of your business using a single dashboard application.
The Leaf Business Platform is able to track sales, manage employees, track performance, and manage your business strategies based on reported sales and business growth. By tracking daily sales you can discover strengths, weaknesses, and opportunity for growths through generated sales reports, cross-referencing and filtering information by categories, employees, time-of-day, catalog etc. The Leaf Business Platform is also able to plot sales of individual items and show how they are trending, whether daily, quarterly, annually, or seasonally. Based on how inventory is trending merchants can manage their catalog or stock to fit the business needs. Employees are managed by tracking sales made by employees, managing server hours, managing tips and pay rates. The Platform is equipped with a built-in theft protection that tracks all sale transactions and sale activities to ensure security to the merchant. Leaf’s Business enables customers to make paperless transactions and enables the merchants to receive payments and collect data and offer discounts to specific customers.
