The environment we live in, is in danger due to various problems. What are the underlying causes ?Who is responsible to combat this ? What are the measures to be taken?

The condition of our environment is getting worse due to the various activities of human beings, which are explained below together with the measures to be taken to overcome these problems.

The various causes of environmental problems aredeforestation and the human population explosion. Due to the increase in population, the demand for living places , for new roads increases. On the other hand, to fulfil these demands, forest have been cut down, which creates an imbalance in the environment. Together with this,industrialisation and urbanisation create a lot of pollution - it may be noise pollution, air pollution ,or water pollution. The total effect of these activities leads to global warming where the temperature is rising at the north pole and is making ice melt in the polare regions. This is raising the sea level and may create floods in various parts of this world. All these disasters are taking place because of human activity. So it is human beings who should combat these effects.Firstly, the government has to take strict measures to control the population. Secondly, various campaigns have to be carried out at different stages - in every town and city to create awareness to protect the environment. Even though these measures can be effective when implemented and planned well with the cooperation of the government and non-government organisations.

To sum up, considering all the above information, it is clear that every individual has the responsibility to protect the environment. So, it is important to create an awareness for oursurvival in this environment.
