Final Project Overview

In Part One of the final project you explain how HIPAA, ICD, CPT, and HCPCS influence medical billing and demonstrate your knowledge of the steps involved in this process from time of patient intake to discharge by completing a CMS 1500 claim form. In Part Two, you examine HIPAA privacy regulations and discuss the social, ethical, and legal ramifications of improper information disclosure. You discuss your findings in a 1,500- to 1,750-word paper.

You should budget your time wisely and work on your project throughout the course. As outlined below, some assignments in the course are designed to assist you in creating your final project.
