Tell me something about yourself

My name is Amol Tantu. I grew up in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Completed my 10th from ICSE board and 10+2 from CBSE board and then crossed the borders to attend the IIT BHU (Varanasi) for my undergrad. I earned my B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering in four years.  I am a fresher. Being from engineering background I like to experiment , innovate and push my quest to unravel the market problems using my technical knowledge and analytical skills. This quest have led me to develop many significant projects in graduation which have potential to serve the world for good. Tough the true passion of mine has not just been the technical aspect of my quest but the management aspect of it. This passion have led me to business school  in search for knowledge in all the facets of management  and to excel in all aspect of life. In future I want to work for a position where I can purists my passion and continue my quest.

Apart from my curriculum, I am a person who loves to explore new cultures and environments. Thus I always looking for an opportunity to travel. I also like to play football and I am supporter of football club Manchester United.

Successful leaders have a clear sense of purpose. What is your statement of purpose:

Today the automotive industry cluster is so bewildered and complex with respect to demand and supply networks in India that it has resulted in high operation and products costs.  I aim to start an automobile trading venture which would simplify and connect the complicated automobile industry cluster all over the world and make doing business in Industry easier and cheaper. I also plan to grow my family business of making of automotive parts for BAJAJ. Being born in a family with a business background I have an entrepreneurial spirit. Aiming towards my dream I pursued Mechanical Engineering . I undertook many projects in graduation with a plan in my mind that I could bring them to market. Soon to realize that I cannot stand in the market just as simply, as there are many other facets of the market which I need to learn and understand to stand strongly out there. I believe the management course in IIM Lucknow would help me to build up my knowledge and skills that would help me handle all facets of a competitive and complicated business world and make me so that I can help making Automotive industry a better place to do business.

Describe your most significant achievement in life:

I believe the most significant achievement of mine has been my Btech project. Which started with the  ambition to develop something which could help in solving present world issues. Following the ambition and being from Mechanical background led me to an idea of developing the product which could help in addressing the ongoing fuel crisis and which could make using automobile cheaper.

 Adhering  to the core idea and pushing my technical knowledge and creativity, I ended up developing "Smart Cruise Control System". A device which assists vehicles to cruise at peak mileage. Thus making drive highly fuel efficient and economical. The smart cruise control system has a significant impact on vehicles travelling over a long distance, for example, plane, ships, trucks, etc. The simulation of the system on a vehicle  in regular operating conditions found to achieve 10% more fuel efficiency as compared to a regular drive. Result seen in the bigger picture shows the significance and value of the system. System if used in Boeing 747 with a flight time of 10 hours under normal flight conditions, it can help in saving 7500 liters of fuel visa vis 150000 liters used by plane in travel. Thus saving INR 2,32,142 per journey.
