This paper will be discussing the different forms of humanities and just exactly how we as individuals can possibly relate to them today. This paper will define humanities, while also distinguishing humanities from other modes of human inquiry and expression, and finally will provide current examples and explain just how each one has a reflection of current developments in politics, socioeconomics, and technology.
Humanities Today
Humanities can often mean different things to different people, however when you take a closer look it is simply a way to guide different individuals with different cultural backgrounds a way to access and gain great knowledge on other ways of the life and the different aspects past and present. Even though time has changed and days have moved around so has the very form and age of humanities and how individuals choose to express themselves through humanities. Humanities is a true necessity humanities have a given a place in history for all of us to see as times continue to grow and change we will all continue to grow and understand just how things have actually came to be.
In this time today so many things have changed but even though with the new developments and creations we must always remember that for every new thing that we have now it had to come in some form from something before. With every generation there is something new that comes from it. We have learned so much of our history from school and instructors and the books that have the information that provides us with a base of history. When going back through the past it allows the curiosity in our minds to begin to ask questions, it is this that helps to show the new generation what makes up the things that we see today.
Today’s generation has everything shortened in a way that there is really no appreciation for the old ways of literature and writing, and also there are new forms of technology that makes everything happen in a snap. The relation that humanities have to art, music, architecture, philosophy, and literature can be the fact that it can be experience all over. For instance Art in itself can have so many wonderful stories and be considered a completed work from an artist and a simple beautiful craft and can be seen in some of the most luxurious places in the world. Art has an effect and a true connective approach to people so as long as art is around it will always share a story (Teachnology Inc. , N.D.). Music is also a very beautiful and soothing way of expression, it can often times speak to the soul and can be song in many different ways and language just putting music over a wonderfully selected beat can make all the difference. Music is universal and it has a way of reaching people, there are so many musical artists past and present that have left a lasting impression through song.
