1.1 INTRODUCTION
Employee welfare can be defined as anything done for the intellectual, physical, moral and economic betterment of the workers, whether by employers, by government or by other agencies, over and above what is laid down by law or what is normally expected of the contractual benefits for which workers may be bargained.
The labour welfare is a life and soul part to play to retain and motivate the employees in an organization and thereby attains the organizational objectives in effective way, more than modern machinery and hard work. This is possible only when labour is given due importance and human element is taken into account at every stage. Hence it is relevant and necessitated to persuade the welfare measures provided by the organization and to analyze its impact in the physical and psychological aspects of employees. In this study, various data were collected through the survey by using structured interview schedule rendered to the respondents, discussions with the executives and through observation. Other sources of data are various reports, publications, journals, pamphlets, company website etc.
