A LOT OF LEADERS OF INDUSTRIES IN NIGERIA, LACK KNOWLEDGE OF NATIONAL LAWS AS WELL AS INTERNATIONAL LAWS. THE VARIOUS CONFLICTS THAT PLAGUE THE NATION INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE RECURRENT ALTERCATIONS REGARDING CRUDE OIL ACROSS THE COUNTRY, CORRUPTION IN THE DIFFERENT SECTORS OF THE ECONOMY, WIDE SPREAD PRE AND POST ELECTION VIOLENCE, POLITICAL CRISES, ECONOMIC DOWN - TURN AND SO ON. THESE CONFLICTS HAVE TAKEN A HUGE TOLL ON THE CITIZENRY AND THE COUNTRY IS STILL REELING FROM THE IMPACT OF THE SKIRMISHES WHICH UNFORTUNATELY STILL SPORADICALLY OCCUR. HOWEVER, PROVIDING SOLUTIONS TO THESE CRISES IN NIGERIA AND OTHER COUNTRIES WERE SIMILAR ACTIVITIES ARE PREVALENT IS ACHIEVABLE. A STUDY OF NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LAWS CAN NOT BE OVER EMPHASIZED IF WE ARE TO ACHIEVE LASTING SOLUTIONS. COUNTRIES DO NOT EXIST IN ISOLATION AND THE WORLD HAS FAST BECOME A GLOBAL VILLAGE THEREFORE, FOR SUSTAINABLE AND VIABLE GROWTH IN OUR ECONOMY WE MUST UNDERSTAND THE ECONOMIC LAWS THAT GOVERN OUR COUNTRY AND OTHER COUNTRIES WE RELATE WITH. PHILOSOPHY AS MY FIRST DEGREE EXPOSED ME TO THE STUDY OF POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY, ETHICAL ISSUES OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, PHILOSOPHY OF LAW, WESTERN POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY, PHILOSOPHY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE, GLOBALIZATION, SOCIO - POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY AND SO ON. THIS EXPOSURE PUT ME AT AN ADVANTAGE TO FURTHER MY EDUCATION IN INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC LAW. INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC LAW WOULD FURTHER DEEPEN MY KNOWLEDGE ON GLOBALIZATION, POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC ISSUES AS WELL AS THE LAWS AND ETHICS THAT GOVERN THEM. MY INTEREST IN THIS FIELD IS NOT ONLY DUE TO MY BACK GROUND IN PHILOSOPHY BUT ALSO, A DESIRE TO SEE A BETTER NIGERIA AND A BETTER WORLD AT LARGE. IF LAWS THAT GOVERN THE VARIOUS ECONOMY ARE UNDERSTOOD AND ADHERED TO, A LOT OF ECONOMIC/POLITICAL CRISES WOULD BE AVOIDED AS WELL AS RESOLVED.
