What is culture?

The term 'culture' seems so ordinary and simple but it is very crucial. It is because of the culture a country is known to the world. It consist wide range of human behavior viz. festivals, music, art, literature, beliefs, attitudes etc. Thus, culture can be taken as the way of living.

Today tourism becomes one of the important sources of revenue generator of the country. It is because of the culture, tourism flourish in the country. People are always in the search of new or say what they don't have. Thus, people travel around the world to spend their holidays along with the search of new experience. Wherever they go, they find new places with new culture which they haven't experienced yet and they have been enjoy by it. And it is a human nature that people explore for new experience rather than usual one. Though they come for trekking, mountaineering or jungle safari in our country, they are fascinated by 'Jhuma' tradition if they are doing a trek of Mustang or Manang district of western Nepal or by 'Tharu' dance if they are in jungle safari in southern part of Nepal.

A religion plays a vital role in the formulation of the culture. E.g. if a culture is based on the Hinduism, there will be temples of gods and goddesses; sacrifice animals; offer red color, flowers, coconut etc; have tika (red point on forehead) on temple visit etc. Hindu based culture performs such kind of activities in general. But some other religion based culture performs it due to their influence. But we say that it is solely Hindu culture.

Hence culture plays a vital role in the development of the country by generating revenues and employment which assists to stop brain drain from the country.
