I was a bit surprised to come to the conclusion at the end of insight one that I had answered more odd numbered questions mostly true than even numbered questions, given that the even numbers represent typical leadership qualities. Growing up playing football, baseball, and hockey, I was given the role of team captain numerous times by my all of my coaching staffs. I was given these roles to lead my team and I was looked up to by my peers. In my everyday life I often think about my future and where I want to be and wonder how I will strive to get there. My family has pointed out to me that I am the most driven person in my family, and they like how I set goals and stop at nothing to reach them. All in all, I thought that I had more leadership skills right off of the bat than what this insight has provided.
Although I was a little surprised in my leadership scoring, I am not surprised at all in my management qualities and characteristics. I am currently an aspiring project manager in the construction industry. I chose the profession because managing construction projects seemed challenging and exciting to me. To work with many different people to come together and construct a building is a really rewarding feeling, and I believed that I had the people skills to excel as a project manager. When I go back and review the odd numbered questions that I marked mostly true, I can truly say that I can remember a situation in the past of me doing the exact same thing, only to prove to myself that I accurately answered the question correctly in my mind. My management skills will lay the ground work in furthering my leadership skills.
