PREFACE
The summer training of a management program plays a very important role in developing a well groomed professional. It allows a student an opportunity to test a theoretical concept in a particular field of application. If gives the candidate an idea of a dynamic & versatile professional world as well as exposure to intricacies & complexities of the corporate world.
Doing the summer training at MEDICA SUPERSPECIALTY HOSPITAL, KOLKATA (MSHK) was a great learning experience. It helped expose me to concepts in the human resource department in understanding how the organization, since its inception, has progressed along the guidelines of success, to emerge as one of the biggest players in the hospital industry in Kolkata, the heart of eastern India.
During our MBA program, till date, we have been taught dozens of subjects, which if not applied properly in the real and corporate world out there, will amount to nothing but a waste of valuable resources and time. Learning and implementing a of concept of human resource, in the service industry, provides an opportunity to explore the practical implications of the concept.. I got a chance to explore the parameters affecting the overall concept of patient satisfaction, esp. in the OPD. In addition I was also responsible for an in depth study of the statutory compliance adhered to by the HR department. As a trainee in the HR department for a period of 8 weeks, I got to a learn and understand the basic working of the HR team in a hospital .
