Pure blood.

“Gaia, Apollo. What brings you to Sanguinem?” Stefania asked at the couple stopped in the doorway, awaiting welcome. I fidgeted next to Michael until he took my hand and squeezed it reassuringly.

“Maiestatem Tuam.” The couple bowed slightly before replying. “We come asking for assistance.” I was shocked at how perfectly they spoke in unison.

“Assistance for…?” Stefania asked in her silky voice, yet her expression was stoic.

The woman stepped forward and spoke singularly. “The coteries in our country are wreaking havoc. They are feeding irresponsibly and causing unwanted attention that is terribly affecting the rest of us.” She said in a thick, uncommon accent.

“Why is there such a revolt?” Questioned Stefania.

“We know not the reason. Because of the bankruptcy, the humans have been fleeing to other countries. The lower population has been negatively effecting us, and making it more obvious when we do feed.” Gaia answered.

Only then did I noticed her mate, Apollo, glaring at me with such an intensity that I felt like I was suffocating by the weight of it. His eyes were pitch black, but the expression on his perfect face was one of such a fury that I was mystified by it. I had never seen someone so rage-filled. Not even Raif had achieved such an evil expression.

Some say the world will end in fire.

Some say in ice.

From what I've tasted of desire.

I hold with those that favor fire.

But I think I know enough of hate,

to say that for destruction, ice

is also great
