Framework for Brand Dumb Charades event
Nature of event
This event will be conducted as a pre-event to the ‘We Collaborate’ (Day 2) event of the KUSOM annual festival. It will be an intra-college event within KUSOM with participants from both BBA and MBA programs. The event will be held on 29th November at KUSOM premises.
Participation
Teams, with four to five members in each of the team, will be allowed to participate in the event. Each team will have to have a minimum of at least three members in the team and pay a participation fee of rupees 150 per person
Event Activities:
Preliminary Round
The first round will be the preliminary round where each of the team will have to elect a member to act out a list of brands within a certain time frame. Top teams with the greatest score in this round will move on to the next round. In case of a tie in this round brand trivia questions will be asked to decide the team which will move on.
Second Round
Each of the next three levels will be a dumb charades round in which one of the team members will have to act out the brand name that the rest of the team members will have to guess. Within this round, each members acting out the brand should be different. In the first level of this round the participants will be given two minutes to guess each brand, and for each of the successive levels the time given will get shorter. In case the team is unable to correctly guess the brand the question may pass to the other teams or the audience members.
Rapid Fire Round
The last round will be a rapid fire round, in which the teams will elect one member to act out as many brands as possible within the given time. The team with the most points at the end of this round wins!
Rules of the Game
- All participants as well as audience members are strictly prohibited to use mobile phones or access the internet while the event is still in session.
- Each team will have to elect one of its members to come forward in each round; the elected member will be given a brand name which he/she must convey to his/her team members through gestures within the given time.
- At the end of given time, the team will be given 5 seconds of time to declare their guess with the Statement " Our Final is "Brand Name"
- The brand name will be randomly chosen by the participant from the Brand Bowl for the second round.
- The same person from the team may not be elected twice to act in consecutive rounds in the second round.
- The person acting out the brand names is not allowed to make any sounds or mouth out the word. Doing so may lead to negative marking (-5 points) or disqualification.
- The participant acting out the brand is not allowed to write the name or logo of the brand in air, mouth out the word, or point out to the object if that object is the brand name or if someone is putting up that brand.
- The team must be able to guess the brand with proper pronunciation for it to qualify as a correct guess.
- Any guesses made after the given time has passed will be invalid.
- If the team is unable to correctly guess the brand name within the given time the question will move on to the other participating teams (only for second round).
- The other teams have a choice as to whether or not answer the passed on questions, a correctly answered question will carry 10 points but an incorrect guess will lead to -5 points.
- If none of the teams are able to correctly guess the brand the question may be passed on to one of the audience members.
For the Rapid Fire Round
- Team member chosen to act for this round may be a member who has already acted in one of the last dumb charades rounds.
- The team member will be given a list of brands and a certain amount of time to act out as many of those brands on the list as possible.
- The list of brands given for this round will not be randomly chosen from the Brand Bowl, it will be assigned by the organizers.
- The team must be able to guess the brands with proper pronunciation for it to qualify as a correct guess.
- The questions from this round will not be passed on to the other teams or the audience.
- The team with the highest points after the rapid fire round wins!
In the event of a tie, a series of brand trivia questions will be asked and the teams will be required to write the answers down in a piece of paper. The team with the most number of correct answers wins!
