We pull up into a large parking lot. I look around, and don't see the big sign that should tell me where the SCVC (Southern California Volleyball Club) Los Cab volleyball club is. Instead, I see a facility that looks like a large office building, or something of the such. We exit the car, and then walk around the corner, to an entrance that is set into the building.
It is very obvious where the entrance is, because of the way that it is situated. It is the only part that stands out from the rest of the building, defying the plain, flat walls that make up all the rest. The two dark doors are surrounded by some potted plants. The label above the doors clearly mark this place as the Los Caballeros Racquet and Sports Club.
I look up at the other people that are walking in. At this time, it is mostly people that are here for the volleyball tryouts, like my sister. My sister, along with the other volleyball players, are equipped in their SCVC shirts, black volleyball shorts, and their volleyball shoes. The kids are accompanied by their parents, like my sister.
As I enter the building, I notice a big lobby with a large desk taking the notice as the centerpiece. My mom finishes up, and rather then walking down one of the hallways, like I expected, we walk out one of the doors going towards the water.
The middle of the building is very pretty. In the center, and filling up most of the square with the exception of the sidewalk around it, are the pools. There is one large pool, that I recognized to be an Olympic sized pool. I see people in the water, swimming back and forth, across the pool and back. Several lanes make up this pool, and the water looks very clean, filled only with people swimming laps.
There is a second large pool, just not as big as the Olympic pool. I assume this to be the junior pool. There are a few little kids in there with their parents, just randomly swimming around. Unlike the bigger pool, this one isn't cut off into lanes. Behind the junior pool, is a small building. I look closer at it, until I realize that it is only a changing room and rest room.
Close to the fence, sitting there as if it were built as an afterthought, is a kiddie pool. It couldn't be more than 10 feet in diameter, and looks pretty sad. The water sits cool and still, moving no more than water in a still glass. No one is in the pool, and I wonder with
