Working as a Special Agent, there are several responsibilities and areas one can work in. Also being an agent, your pay can be good but it comes with the price of having a high stress level due to the work environment.
As stated earlier there are multiple duties being an agent and one of those is serving subpoenas and arrest warrants. Another responsibility is going on undercover missions and stake out missions to gain curtain things like secret files, incarcerating those who are big name people, and gathering evidence to build up a case vs. someone. Along with that, serving ones country is a duty of a agent either overseas or right here in our great country one way or another they are employed to protect the U.S.A. somehow, some way. In order to do all these fantastic things for the F.B.I., an applicant has to be from the ages of 21 and 35. 'Also the Federal Bureau of Investigation agents are the federal government's principal investigators, responsible for enforcing more than 300 federal statutes and conducting sensitive national security investigations' (bls.gov).
Working for the F.B.I. or their agencies always calls for some to work with numbers and papers to get inside a con's head behind the senses. Also, for the ones who are going out into the world, getting those breaking laws, interacting with more than just coworkers just like any other company does. For example, the staff in the field or at base (office) gather information for the cubical/office workers to analyze who then turn over their findings to the field agents at which point arrests are attempted. With all the exposure to fighting, killing, and kidnapping the agents go through making their arrests, the job brings a high stress level. They also may face physical injury when conflicts with criminals occur, during motor-vehicle pursuits, when exposure to communicable diseases occurs, or through many other high-risk situations. The agents, whether in the office or the field, work with more than their own agency, in fact, all the agencies work together sharing information with each other for a common goal, to keep America safe. The hours of working this job is stressful as well at times with having to work all night and sleep all day instead of sleeping at night time and working during the day.
