The legalization of medical marijuana is a topic that is debated constantly between the federal and state laws. In the hills of Mendocino and Humbolt counties marijuana is accepted and many people sell it in order to make a living. Andrew and Anna "Are hoping that there 50 or so marijuana plants will cover the bills." The lives that they live use to have a huge income but now are reduced to barely paying the bills which shows the drop of price of marijuana in the Emerald Triangle. The people living in the Emerald Triangle fear legalization because they believe it will reduce the quality and health benefits of the plant. DeAngelo is a supporter of medical dispensaries and the legalization of them, however only 10% of dispensaries support legalization of medical marijuana because it will decrease the price dramatically. The reason for his support is because he believes, “Californians need to see medical cannabis safely and responsibly distributed before they will trust broader legalization." This statement is very true because as people we want the security of knowing that the system works and can be trusted in a state and nation level. Medical marijuana is something that as a nation a majority of people recognize as an accepted treatment for illnesses and chronic pain. As a nation people can accept marijuana for medicinal uses but we fear allowing others to use it for recreational purposes, "While 75 percent of Americans oppose Legalization of marijuana for personal use, nearly 70 percent say it should be permissible for medical purposes." People can accept Marijuana because it has a medical use that helps others deal with their symptoms. The legalization of medical marijuana is a topic that is still debated today and one day it will reach a conclusion.
