Aesthetic aspects

My design has many aesthetic aspects giving it an interesting and innovative look.

• Iron on transfer printing- This aesthetic aspect makes the corset look more interesting and colourful and it also tells a story.

• Dyed corset lining- This aspect gives the lining a more appealing look.

• Darts on the skirt- The darts give the skirt a neater appearance.

• Sparkly organza lining for skirt- The fabric of the skirt is extremely appealing as it is highly lustrous.

• Lace insertions- The lace on my split brings attention to the split.

• Organza flowers- These bring texture to the garment and are also highly aesthetically pleasing.

• Beading- The beading also brings texture and is very appealing.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths- There are many strengths within the construction of my garment, my idea is extremely innovative and I have analysed the functional and aesthetic features of my garment.

Weaknesses- I could not include as many barbie themes as I would have liked, the iron on transfer sheets were also not of highest quality.

Factors determining appropriate design

Economics- I have discovered a warehouse where I bought some of my fabric from, it was much more affordable than spotlight. It is called E&M Greenfield PTY.LTD located 30-36 Ann St, Surry Hills.

Environment- The material I used for my corset is made of cotton a natural fibre although my skirt is not.

Manufacturing techniques- The manufacturing techniques I have used have been tested before
