What is a cybercrime, in your own words?

What is the extent of cybercrime in the United States?

How do you think we should control / enforce cybercrime?

Do you think enforcement can be effective? Why or why not?

I would define cybercrime as the use of usual activities on the computer or internet. Cybercrime are becoming very dangerous such as crimes on internet pornography, online scams, identity theft, etc. Cybercrime can cost billions of dollars each year.

The extent of cybercrime in the United States is popular because it happens everyday to so much people. So, it’s hard to record the extent of cybercrime in the United States, because when law record cybercrime as a computer related crime, usually they record it as a conventional crime or fraud. There are a lot of hackers out here that cost the U.S. a lot of money. The internet has become major problem for illegal activities. Law enforcements often watch for suspicious acts but there are a lot of them never are made because as many are going unreported and not reported to the law enforcements. There are businesses that are not reporting cybercrime due to the fact that they don’t want to revealed weaknesses in their network security system. Computer software and copying involves low-visibility acts that are rarely detected.

I think we should controlled/enforce cybercrime by copyright infringement- which provides a penalty for the first time illegal activities of five years of prison time and a fine. I would use a software piracy which criminalizes assessing computer systems without authorization to obtain information. Controlling cybercrime can be very hard at times but ways you can control it is to make sure no personal information such as social security numbers, etc. are not used to people that you do not know.
