A Charmed life

     Boys are always confused with how to chase a girl and how to succeed, but they don’t know that all they need to do is become a charming man. Being There is an old movie from 1979. In the movie, Chance is a gardener, he sends almost half of his life in a manor. His job is taking care of the owner’s garden, and he is a professional gardener. In the beginning the movie, he just sits down and watching a small and old television. His world is filled in with television. Louise is a woman who works as a maidservant, and she always cooks food for Chance. In that moment, Chance is a little kid who just watches television, and wait for his meal. Louise was feels tried to take care of Chance. She feels that Chance will never learn anything, and he will never group up.

When the manor’s owner dies. Chance doesn’t have much feeling when he hears that old man died. Louise is mad as him, but she has no idea what she can do. After the old man dies, the manor belongs to other people. Louise leaves that manor, and hugs Chance when she leaves. Chance lives in a small room located in the manor. He has no place to live but in the manor. However, when lawyers come to manor, they fund Chance and force him to move out. Chance packs a baggage and become homeless. He walks on the street, tired and hungry. Fortunately, he meets Eve who bring him to her manor and lets him stay in there. Ben is Eve’s husband and he is dying. Chance becomes Ben’s good friend. After that, how called Chauncey Gardner. Chance doesn’t do that much things, but he gets things that other people will never earn. Charming is man’s choice,

Being an upright man is an option life. In “Thoughts from the Tao-te Ching,” Lao-Tzu says that weapons are the tools of violence; all decent men detest them. (209). Lao-Tzu recommends that people are using mild way to dispose problem. Lao-Tzu is objects using weapon to make people obey leader’s order. Chance does not argue with anyone or abuse anyone in the movie. Even though when Thomas forces him to move out and mocks him because Chance cannot read or write. Chance doesn’t want to argue with layer because he is a decent man.  

Silence is a kind of power for men. In the article of “Thoughts from the Tao-te Ching,” Lao- Tzu presents that Master doesn’t talk, he acts. When his work is done, the people say, Amazing, we did it, all by ourselves.” (207). Being nature is the main idea of Tao. People don’t need do any extra things, they should let things happened naturally. Chance usually says a few words and people think he is smart. For example, when Ben and Chance first met, they had a good time and become good friends. Even though Chance doesn’t know anything about business, Ben still believes that Chance is a personal businessman. Ben also believe that if someone gives Chance an opportunity, Chance will be success again. And also Chance is becoming Chauncey Gardner in ben’s manor. Sometimes, silence is the best way to gain power.
