Media Log

Keep a media log for one week (7 days). Record each and every time you use the media, what type of media you are using and how long you used this media. (For example, maybe you watched a movie, then also watched television, then spent time on a computer and also sent 40 text messages in one day while also reading your assigned textbooks. I want you to record everything in your media log.) Then write a one full page paper analyzing your results and what your preferences are for different types of media use. Submit both your media log and your one full page paper. This is not so much for me to see your media use for a grade but for you to determine how much time you spend each day engaged with some type of media on a daily basis. (Paper must be double spaced, normal size font, with one inch margins top, bottom and sides.)

Examples of Types of Media: Newspapers, magazines, television films, video games, CD's, books - fiction and non-fiction, comic books, texting, advertising, government informational materials, leaflets, interest group propaganda, internet.
