Critical thinking is the ability to apply reasoning and logic to new or unfamiliar ideas, opinions and situations it involves seeing things in an open-minded way and examining ideas in as many ways as possible.
What makes a person a critical thinker? Great critical thinkers tune into their desire to continue learning and understanding how things work. Be inquisitive about anything and ask questions others may have but don’t ask. Great critical thinkers understand that their ideas may not be the best and that they do not know everything. They have the ability to research things and bring in multiple resources. They don’t just hear what other people have to say they join in on the conversation. They have the ability to remain objective they understand the goals and stay focused without letting others cloud their judgement. There creative and they think outside the box for better solutions. Why is critical thinking important? Critical thinking is important because it gives you ways of solving problems from different angles before reaching a decision. It entails effective communication, and problem solving skills, it helps improve how we express ourselves. It helps us think creatively and come up with better solutions to problems that arise. Provide an example of how critical thinking has helped you in life. My youngest daughter is ADHD and we were having problems with her at home when medicine wore off. I was offered counseling services through a company that did in home services so I had to really think about what they had to offer her and whether or not I wanted strangers in my home. But after really thinking about her needs I decided it would be a great service for her and our family. It lasted six months and it went great. I ended up gaining a lot of knowledge out of it myself. What do you expect to learn from this course? I expect to learn about elements of thought and how to apply it in everyday situations. How I can make better decisions and apply them in my career choices. Also increasing my problem solving skills in everyday life.
