Is Proof of God Necessary
There has always been the one big question on whether God exists or not. It has always been a hot topic for debate and a great conversation piece. A lot of different philosophers have exhausted time trying to answer this question, yet an answer is never really found and conclusions are always contradicting. Proving the existence of God has always been a challenge; you have the believers who will do everything they can to prove that God does exist and the Atheists that will try to dispute any argument brought about by the believers. This shows that there will never be a clear answer on whether God exist or not. It cannot be confirmed or invalidated, which makes this time old question repetitious. What the believers and atheists base their knowledge and feeling on is faith which is when someone believes in something so strongly even without and proof or factual evidence. Therefore, I feel that the argument on whether God exists is not necessary and the need for proof on the existence of God is not needed.
The faith of a person is what causes them to believe in the existence of God. Believers are constantly swayed in the direction that God exists and at all times respect the principles of the religions they follow (Holley, 2011). However, atheists do not believe in religion or God, therefore they will argue the need for religion and the existence of God in every argument. For these reasons, faith is the key facet that influences the position of one person's stance on if God exists or does not exists. In 1943, Sartre in the analysis of Bataille's L'Expérience intérieure recognized "God is dead" (Vogel, 2011). Despite this, people have not become atheists, according to Sartre. He further goes into detail about how it is not very easy to become an atheist and leave Christianity. People that have tried to leave Christianity and become atheists are usually held up by the doctrines of their religion. The Catholic religion, for example makes it very hard for you to get a divorce once you are married in their church. You not only have to get a divorce in the state, but you have to petition the church for one too. This is one example of how people strictly follow the doctrines of their religions. Another prime example is if they say that God does exist, then they are to believe it. This leads to why faith is Faith highly valuable in determining the stand people take on God.
Faith is not something we learn, it is something we come across naturally. As we grow from children we learn and develop the same faith and beliefs as our family. Our families will have the same beliefs as a society or community, and we will follow in the same steps. We will have the same faith and beliefs until we are old enough to develop our own, and we do this without having any proof or factual evidence to support what we believe in.
