Can Students Really Benifit from Tutorial Class?

Introduction:
Nowadays, many students attending large group tutorial class conducted by celebrity tutors in order to get a better result in examination. The essay will be discuss and analyze by using theories of memory to explain why students cannot benefit from it.
Argument 1:
The characteristic of large tutorial class is learning a large amount of knowledge and skills in a short period of time. Therefore are many topics are covered in one lesson and briefly introduce the key concept. Also, they will provide intensive class one to two months before the examination begins in order to have final revision with students and boost up their memory. Student can only memorize it directly without understanding the meaning of the concept if they do not study well in school. According to the level of processing, it states that if information was processed deeply, such as analyze the concepts with examples and interpretation, the retrieval process then can be matched with the encoding process. For example, many English tutors they simply teach many vocabularies and passages that they think are relevant during lesson. However, these vocabularies have only the Chinese meanings and without further explain how to use it and examples. Therefore students cannot enhance their memory.
Argument 2:
There are many distractions in attending large group tutorial class and this will have a bad influence on memorize what they have learned in the course. It can be divided into two parts: the lack of ability to pay attention and lack of interest in tutorial class.
