Making good decisions is vital to living a successful and productive life. All of us are confronted with various decisions to make on a daily basis. Some are small and of minor consequence, while others are huge and can potentially change our lives. Some are simple and obvious choices while others are more difficult. The most important thing to remember when making decisions is be it good or bad, there is always a reaction or consequence.
A consequence is the result of a course of action. It is believed that whenever you do something good there is a positive reaction as well as a negative reaction when you do badly. Sometimes the consequences we must face for our choices not only affect us but others around us as well. Let me give you an example of each. If someone decides to commit a crime the consequence would be jail time. The fact that they had to go to jail would also affect their friends and loved ones. On a positive note, if they make good decisions the repercussions are positive and a negative outcome is not likely, therefore not causing any physical, mental, or emotional stress on the individual or those connected to the individual. Sometimes the decision we make is even more important than the results.Making good decisions does not immediately render positive results but pays off in the end. We don’t always get a pat on the back or even acknowledged for making a good decision but we have peace within ourselves in knowing we made the right decision or are doing the right thing. We can also sleep at night and don’t have to walk around paranoid or looking over our shoulder all day. Good results also can not always be based on good decisions because life is unpredictable. It is wise to make good decisions and plan ahead but we can not get discouraged if it does not work out. Life is full of surprises, and we have to be ready for those surprises. The person who always makes wise decisions and plans everything does not have a perfect life.
