Discussing a Treatment Plan
As human service representatives we are here to help those in need, and as a part of our job in the human services field, we must determine what our clients need, and work on a treatment plan with them. This allows the client to feel like they are a part of their treatment and that they have a say in their treatment. This also allows the human service representative and the organization to have a set plan on how to address any issues the customer may have.
Today we are going to discuss a client in need of a treatment plan for care and treatment. The clients name is Larry McCune, he is 34 years of age and he works as an engineer. He has had some recent events that have triggered severe depression and anxiety. A traumatic event that is one reason for his current state would be a car accident that he and his daughter were involved in, in which she passed away from the injuries she sustained in the accident. Secondly, he and his wife have gone through a divorce, which has been mainly because of his grief, depression, and anxiety that happened as a result of the accident. He also suffers from severe headaches since the accident, and has trouble sleeping due to nightmares about the accident. Due to the depression and anxiety, he is having difficulty maintaining his job and often lashes out at his co-workers. He is also experiencing an extreme fear of motor vehicles and sometimes has trouble leaving the house. It is apparent that he is suffering from depression due to his demeanor and trouble showing expressions other than sadness. He has also lost interest in the things that once made him happy, and has no real support system with friends and he lives by himself. His relationship between his wife and his son is not negative, but he does struggle with paying child support and seeing his son on a regular basis.
The first recommendation that is made in the presentation is an evaluation for any neurological issues that may have resulted from the accident. This could help determine the cause
