Psychology refers to the study of the mind through observing one’s behavior. A researcher focuses only on the person of interest in most the areas of discipline. On the contrary, there is an area of psychology that requires interaction of individuals with other people is called social psychology. It is the study of how people think about, influence, and relate to one another (Meyers, 2010). There are various concepts and research methods developed by social psychologist expose variations and similarities of social psychology and other psychological disciplines.

The description of social psychology is developed on several main concepts that are applicable to everyday life.

• An individual constructs his or her own social reality

• One’s social intuitions are powerful and danger at times

• A person’s attitude shapes his or her behavior

• One’s social influence shapes his or her behavior

• An individual’s temperament shapes behavior

• A person’s social behavior is his or her biological behavior

• One’s feelings and actions toward others are positive and negative (Meyers, 2010).

These concepts provide individuals with a method for asking important questions, such as “what type of behavior do I have?”, “how much of my social behavior is biology?” and “how do my attitude affect others?” When this occurs, it gives researchers the chance to implement research methods in providing those answers.
