The question that get a lot of controversy is, Is Psychology Science? Psychology is definitely the root of science. Science is the scientific method of studying structures and human behavior through tests and observation. Psychology is the study of the mind and human behavior. There is a lot of correlations with science and psychology. There are different scientist that thinks otherwise like David Hume. Whether you are testing the mind or studying behavioral matters, there is a process to endure, with hypothesis, testing subject, observation and results.
Psychology is significant in our lives as well as science, the results are often influences the world view point and attitudes and behaviors to different situations and circumstance, whether if they are hereditary or whether they are economically introduced in society now. According to Caldwell (2015)" Psychology is widely influenced through language, law and social contact and perception". For an example, Just because the law says you need to have preponderance of evidence or without a reasonable doubt to convict a person, in psychology they need to know if that person is sane or insane to upstand trial, secondly, the jury is consist of twelve "normal" citizens to determine if that person guilty or not, people react and counter act with feelings and emotions, so its' hard to merely go on the fact along, but with science, to prove validity, it has to have a controlled group and group subjects that is being tested, with the same material over and over and internationally, whether the results are the same or different each time, then it can be recorded as it is valid or not. Scientist and Psychologist has to come up with a prediction and to see and test if the prediction and the hypotheses were correct.
In Science and Psychology you have to hypothesize and test and observe and record the results, whether it's in human behavior or the perception of how people view the world because of nature or nurture. Also according to Zimbardo (2004), Human behavior is more influenced by things outside than inside. Humans are different whether they are in the same situation, mentally, or physically. Humans will react to circumstances differently around the world. The views are merely the perception because of environmental habitats, religion beliefs, ethics, moral values that were taught, and even traits and genes.
