Saint Francis described sun and moon as our brother and sister, that we are all connected, related and integrated with all other creations. He himself is someone who is deeply in touch with the beauty, dignity and love of creation. Pope Francis started his letter from the beautiful canticle of Saint Francis, “Common home is like a sister with whom we share our life and a beautiful mother who opens her arms to embrace us [LS 1], This sister now cries out to us because of the harm we have inflicted on her by our irresponsible use and abuse of the goods with which God has endowed her [LS 2]”. The second encyclical letter of Pope Francis remind us about the man's stewardship in our common home. Pope Francis Hope that this encyclical letter which is added to the body of the church's social teaching, can help us to acknowledge the appeal, immensity and urgency of the challenge we face [LS 15]. The bible said that “The Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it.” (Genesis 2:15), but people forget to care, instead people keep on tilling it for the pursuit of economic growth. In this letter, Pope Francis tries to awaken the conscience of all people, especially for those who has economic, social, and political power. Vatican issued a strong declaration about climate change, part of it says that “Human-induced climate change is a scientific reality, and its decisive mitigation is a moral and religious imperative for humanity.” [1].
