Understandment of Mosque

Every religion has their own place of worship, and just like the others muslims also have their own which is called Mosque (better known as Masjid). The mosque is important to the Muslim community because it's a place of worship to Allah, and not only is it a community centre, a mosque but also school. When entering mosque the first thing to be done is the removal of shoes and a "Wudu" which is where the special cleansing performed it is sacred wash that symbolises spiritual cleansing and purity in readiness for coming before Allah. When a muslims perform the "wudu" they must wash their hands, mouth, nose, ears, arms and feet. When washing they always begin wih the right first. The carpet is what Muslims pray on so to keep the carpet clean they also take there shoes off and put a hat on to show respect prior to worship. The Qibla is the way Muslims pray because muslims are to face the holy place of Islam which is the Mecca because it is the holy house of Allah. The main parts of mosque has decorations, called Arabic calligraphy which means decorative writing, because in muslims must not believe or worship in Idols. The Dome is used to amplify the voice when the Imam is reading so that everyone can hear and follow along. The Prayer hall is the most important part of the mosque it is used for prayer mainly, the prayer hall is a vast space on the floor for people to pray on, there is no furniture inside prayer hall. Another area of the mosque is the women's worshiping area, it is usually a balcony behind the prayer hall, it is used by the women to pray because Muslims believe to keep the men and women separate so that they don't get distracted in the middle of prayer.
