Baby Boomer Generation Retirement and Health Issues

In 1946, 3.4 million babies were born in the United States, which increased the population by 22 percent from the previous year. The population continued to increase by approximately 78 million births between the years of, 1946 to 1964. Today, this is referred to as the Baby Boomer Generation. Research has shown that they have a longer life span capacity but lack the healthy lifestyle. It means their health care is a burden for the current society. Furthermore, caring for these baby boomers can present as a threat by many factors which are, shortage of nurses, not enough family practitioners, and running short on the support from Social Security Administration. However, this resulted in an adjusted policy and issues ordered of the Amendments which are, to be able to barely support of all the Baby Boomer Generation retirement . Initiative groups have taken into consideration of supporting the Baby Boomer Generation in terms of health care consultant as well as many useful guidelines for their retirement .

Thus far, the Baby Boomer Generation could potentially be the most productive and innovative group of older citizens to reside in the world. However, sooner than later they will become frail if not medically treated for health conditions. The United States Government and health care policymakers must take preventative measures to reduce their disability rate and disease rate immediately . The Baby Boomer Generation needs to have enhanced long-term care and sustainable health insurance coverage for themselves and increasing number of nurse and family practitioner professionals. The continued care for the Baby Boomers generation has shown to be a huge financial burden for the generations that follow due to the overwhelming number of individuals born into the Baby Boomers generation. Once the funding for Social Security runs out for this group, who is there left to pay for the remaining and ongoing cost of that generation ? Much has left to be changed
